Privacy policy

Lag Chasers is a free wifi and internet speed test published by Upcott Studios (upcottstudios.com). This page explains what happens when you use the site.

Speed measurements

The test runs in your browser. Download, upload, and ping requests go from your device to speed-test endpoints (including our own origin and, when available, public edge endpoints). We do not ask you to create an account. We do not store your speed results on a Lag Chasers server.

Local storage

Your latest heats, personal best, and mute preference can be saved in this browser using localStorage so the ranks page can show your hall of chaos. Clearing site data deletes that history. Nothing in that store is an email, name, or payment detail.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's ad settings at google.com/settings/ads. Learn more in Google's advertising policy.

Logs and security

Hosting providers may record standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and request time to keep the service running and to debug abuse. We do not sell that information.

Shop and affiliate links

The shop links to Amazon. If you buy something, Amazon may set its own cookies and Upcott Studios may earn a commission. We do not receive your Amazon account details or payment information.

Visit count

The home page shows a simple visit counter. It stores a number, not your name, email, or speed-test result.
